BARRACUDA EARN POINT WITH FOUR-GOAL COMEBACK

TUCSON, ARIZ. - Barclay Goodrow netted his third pro hat trick, and the San Jose Barracuda (39-14-2-5) erased a four-goal deficit only to fall 5-4 in a shootout to the Tucson Roadrunners (25-28-7-0) on Sunday night at Tucson Arena.
 
After a scoreless first period, Tucson exploded for four second-period goals. Michael Bunting (12) opened up the scoring at 3:41 after collecting a loose puck in the crease and going top shelf from close range. Chris Mueller (14) poked home Tucson's second goal of the game at 5:05 after Laurent Dauphin went straight to the paint from below the goal line. Brandon Burlon's (3) seeing-eye wrist shot from the left point made it 3-0 at 10:21 and Branden Troock (4) completed the four-goal frame with a blast from the right wing as he entered the offensive zone at 11:49. San Jose's Goodrow (22) finally got the Barracuda on the board at 18:37 on the penalty kill.
 
In the third, Goodrow (23) picked off a Tucson pass, raced down the ice and beat Marek Langhamer through the five-hole on the penalty kill at 6:18. Joakim Ryan (9) got the Barracuda within a goal on the power play ay 10:55 and Goodrow (24) completed the four-goal comeback with his third goal of the game at 19:09.
 
In overtime, the Barracuda outshot Tucson 7-to-1 and killed off Tucson's sixth power play, but a shootout was needed. In the shootout, Kevin Labanc and Danny O'Regan each were denied, and Connor Garland and Mueller scored to earn the 5-4 win for the Roadrunners.
 
Mantas Armalis took the loss after allowing four goals on 24 shots while Langhamer collected the win after making 39 saves on 43 shots.
