BARRACUDA FALL IN SAN ANTONIO, 3-1

BARRACUDA FALL IN SAN ANTONIO, 3-1

Oct 27, 2017

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS - The San Jose Barracuda (3-4) put a season-high 39 shots on net but fell, 3-1, to the San Antonio Rampage (6-1) in a penalty-filled contest on Friday night at AT&T Center.

Ville Husso (2-1) was outstanding making 38 saves and helped lead the Rampage to a perfect eight-for-eight night on the penalty kill.

After Jacob Middleton and Julius Bergman took penalties a minute and eight seconds apart, Rocco Grimaldi (2) cashed in on the five-on-three advantage at 6:44. The California native, Grimaldi, collected a loose puck along the near post and fired a shot past Antoine Bibeau after Bibeau had made the initial save from close range.

In the second, San Jose and San Antonio combined for nine minor penalties, but each team lit the lamp at full strength. First, Danny O'Regan (5) ripped a rebound on the far side past Husso at the 13-minute mark, but 13 seconds later Felix Girard (2) jammed a rebound past Bibeau despite O'Regan being draped all over the San Antonio forward.

In the third, the Rampage sealed their fifth-straight win when Duncan Siemens (1) potted an empty-netter at 19:33.

Antoine Bibeau (1-2) took the hard-luck loss after allowing two goals on 22 shots.
