BARRACUDA REASSIGN FORWARD JON MARTIN

San Jose, CA - The San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), presented by Barracuda Networks (@barracuda), and General Manager Joe Will announced today that the club has reassigned forward Jon Martin (@jmartin_17) to the Allen Americans (@AllenAmericans), the team's ECHL affiliate (@ECHL).
 
The 21-year-old forward was originally signed by San Jose as a free agent on March 2, 2016. In 22 games played for the Barracuda this season, Martin has recorded four points (1+3=4), 16 penalty minutes and a plus-one rating. Martin appeared in eight games for the Barracuda following his junior career at the end of the 2015-16 season, recording zero points, two penalty minutes and a plus-one rating.
 
In four years in the Western Hockey League (WHL), the 6-foot-1, 212-pound forward played 316 games between the Kootenay Ice and Swift Current Broncos registering 141 points (73+68=141), 420 penalty minutes and a minus-41 rating. The Winnipeg native scored his first professional goal on Dec. 17 vs. Bakersfield.
