Tonight:
The San Jose Barracuda and the Ontario Reign (AHL affiliate of the LA Kings) meet for the 9th of 12 meetings this season, the 3rd of six meetings at the SAP Center.  The Barracuda are 1-5-2-0 vs. the Reign this season and are 1-5-2-0 in eight career matchups.   The Barracuda have been outscored 11-18 by the Reign this season as San Jose finished with a 0-4-2-0 record in Ontario as the remaining four games of the 12 game season series will be played at the SAP Center.  San Jose has lost eight of their last nine games (1-6-2-0) heading into this three game home stand while Ontario has points in nine straight games (8-0-1-0) heading into tonight. Bay Area native and Barracuda head coach Roy Sommer (636 wins) looks to surpass Fred “Bun” Cook (636 wins) for the most wins in the 80 year history of the AHL with a victory tonight.

The San Jose Barracuda (19-16-5-3, 46pts) presented by Barracuda Networks ended a five game road trip with a 3-2 loss to the host Ontario Reign (28-10-3-1, 60pts) in front of 9,491 fans at the Citizens Business Bank Arena on Saturday evening. Ryan Carpenter and Ben Smith gave the Barracuda a 2-0 lead through twenty minutes, but the Reign scored three times in the second frame and held off a late Barracuda charge in the third. Troy Grosenick made 21 saves in net for San Jose while Peter Budaj made 26 saves for the Reign as the Barracuda lost for the 8th time in their last nine games.
