BARRACUDA RECALL DEFENSEMAN BRODZINSKI

San Jose, Calif. - San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda) General Manager Joe Will announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Michael Brodzinski (@mbrodzinski20) from the Allen Americans (@AllenAmericans), the team's ECHL (@ECHL) affiliate.

Brodzinski, 21, appeared in six regular-season games for the Barracuda at the end of the 2015-16 season and one playoff game, recording zero points and eight penalty minutes. In 19 games with the Americans, this year, Brodzinski had five points (1+4=5), 12 penalty minutes and a minus-five rating.
 

The five-foot-11, 195-pound native of Ham Lake, Minnesota, spent two seasons at University of Minnesota (B10) and led all Gopher blueliners in points in his final college campaign last year and was T-second in power-play goals (3). Brodzinski was named to the Big-10 Second All-Star Team.
 
Brodzinski was originally selected by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round (141st overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
 
The San Diego Gulls make their first visit of the season to SAP Center on Saturday, Dec. 10 (1:15 p.m.) and Sunday, Dec. 11 (3:00 p.m.).
