BROADCAST BLOG (AUG. 31, 2017)

Aug 31, 2017

Hey Barracuda fans! Nick Nollenberger here. It’s another week, which means it’s time for another blog. Labor Day weekend is a day away, which also means the offseason is only a few days from being officially over. It’s exciting and depressing all at the same time.

The Sharks Prospect Tournament will be from September 9th-to-12th, as I talked about in last weeks blog, and then training camp for the big club kicks off just two days later on September 14th.

Many players have already been in town for several weeks, and others will begin to file in over the coming days.

I’m going to be honest, there isn’t much to talk about from the home front. We'll dive into the Prospect Scrimmage next Thursday.

In the meantime, I’ll be sneaking out of town for the long weekend and returning Monday night. I’m going to visit my dad in Phoenix. It’s 107°, oh JOY☹. I’m just kidding, I'm used to that heat having went to college at the University of Arizona, but it has been a couple of years since I lived there, so I'll have to adjust quickly… in the pool… with a cold beverage. What a rough life!

The Barracuda kick off the regular season on October 7th at rival Stockton, so let’s take a look at the dramatic round one overtime winner by Ryan Carpenter that sent the Heat home and propelled San Jose to the second round of the Calder Cup Playoffs.

Now I'm READY for the season. LET'S GO!!! Have a safe weekend, and I'll talk to you all next Thursday.
