CUDA EDGE CONDORS 2-1, SOMMER COLLECTS 700TH WIN

Bakersfield, CA - The San Jose Barracuda (9-8-0-1) fended off the Bakersfield Condors (8-10-2-0) with a third-period tally on Sunday to take the first of ten matchups between the clubs, 2-1, at Rabobank Arena. The victory was Barracuda Head Coach Roy Sommer's 700th of his career.
 
Antoine Bibeau (6-3-0) outdueled Eddie Pasquale (3-5-1) by making 30 saves to earn his fifth-straight win and San Jose's second consecutive victory. Pasquale allowed a pair of goals on 20 shots.
 
In his first game of the season with the Condors after reassignment from the Edmonton Oilers, Iiro Pakarinen (1) snapped a shot from the left circle over the glove-hand of a screened Bibeau to give the Condors a 1-0 lead on the power play at 12:42. San Jose countered at 16:51 on its first man advantage after Cavan Fitzgerald (2) fired a slap shot low short-side from the left point to tie the game at 1-1.
 
After a scoreless second, Manny Wiederer (2) cut to the slot on a two-on-one and whipped a shot high short-side at 8:42 to give San Jose its first lead in Wiederer's first game since being hurt on October 13.
