FOUR GOAL 2nd LIFTS THE BARRACUDA OVER BAKERSFIELD

San Jose, CA – The San Jose Barracuda exploded for four second period goals and Troy Grosenick was perfect, stopping 28 shots, as San Jose beat the Bakersfield Condors, 4-0, Friday night at SAP Center at San Jose.

Each team put nine shots on net in the first but failed to breakthrough. In the second, Joakim Ryan (2) kicked off the scoring when Nikolay Goldobin feathered a pass over to Ryan who misled a shot passed Laurent Brossoit at 5:57. Kevin Lebanc (2) added to the Barracuda lead when he picked the pocket of a Condor’ in the neutral zone and netted his second pro goal on a perfect breakaway shot on the penalty kill at 8:22. The onslaught continued after Lebanc threw a slot pass to Rourke Chartier at the right post who then redirected the puck top shelf for his first pro goal a 12:57. Veteran John McCarthy competed the four goal second after Colin Blackwell’s for check forced Brossoit to miss-play the puck right in front of his own net at 16:20.

In the third, Grosenick (1-1) was again flawless making 13 saves to earn his first victory of the year. Brossoit (0-2) took his second straight loss (0-2) after allowing four goals on 33 shots.
