Mile-High Matchup: On Friday, for the first time this season, the Barracuda and Colorado Eagles (Colorado Avalanche) square off for the first of two games on the weekend. A season ago, SJ went 4-2-1-1 against the Avs affiliate and 1-1-1-1 at the Budweiser Events Center.

Last Time Out: After collecting wins in its first two home games the weekend prior, the Barracuda had their two-game winning streak snapped on Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 loss to the Ontario Reign. The Barracuda gave up three first period goals before Ontario tacked on a pair of empty-netters. In the loss, the Barracuda got goals from Nick DeSimone and Jonny Brodzinski.

Colorado Cooking: After dropping its first two games of the season against the Stockton Heat, the Colorado Eagles have reeled off three in a row and now sit above .500 for the first time this season. All three wins have come in extra time including the Eagles' most recent outing on Saturday at Milwaukee (3-2 OTW).

Call of Duty: The Sharks recalled forward Jonny Brodzinski and defenseman Trevor Carrick before their East Coast road trip that began on Tuesday in Buffalo. Neither skater played in Tuesday’s overtime loss at the Sabres.

Greer Gone: The AHL suspended Eagles forward A.J. Greer for six games after he left the penalty box in his team’s 3-2 overtime win at Milwaukee on Saturday which will make the 22-year-old unavailable for both games against the Barracuda this weekend. Greer initially was penalized for fighting Admiral Josh Healey before he left the penalty box to fight Milwaukee captain Jarred Tinordi. The Avs selected Greer with in the second round (#39 overall) in the 2015 NHL draft.

Kellman Cruising: Signed by the Sharks as a free agent on April 25, 2019, Joel Kellman leads the Barracuda in points (4) and assists (3) through three games. Before this season, Kellman, 25, skated in 196 games in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) as a member Karlskrona HK and Brynas IF, collecting 114 points (49 goals, 65 assists), 88 PIMS and a minus-18 rating.

El Cap: Barracuda Captain John McCarthy sits just one point shy of 300 (129 goals, 170 assists) in his pro career. McCarthy is the Barracuda’s all-time leader in games played (261), points (134), goals (58) and assists (76).

One from 150: The Barracuda are one win shy of 150 in franchise history.
