Texas Two-Step: The Barracuda and Texas Stars (Dallas Stars) kick off the first of four consecutive games against each other over the next five days starting on Tuesday. The Barracuda and Stars split a pair of games in mid-February in Cedar Park before having their scheduled game on Feb. 16 be postponed due to inclement weather in Texas. That game has been rescheduled for Wednesday in San Jose, with the Barracuda serving as the home team. The Barracuda has a lifetime record of 10-5-1-2 against the Stars and are 6-1-0-1 in San Jose.

Shining Stars: Stars forwards Adam Mascherin (13+12=25) and Riley Damiani (6+18=24) rank sixth and seventh respectively in the AHL in scoring entering Tuesday. Damiani’s 18 helpers are tied for second in the league. Among rookies, Damiani is first in points and assists and Stars first-round pick in 2019 Thomas Harley is tied for sixth in points among defensemen (5+8=13), first in minors (12) and third in shots (50).

Sizzling Sash: Barracuda sophomore forward Sasha Chmelevski scored twice on Sunday in Ontario and now has four points (3+1=4) over his last two games. Chmelevski was held out of Saturday’s game. Sunday was the Southern California native's first multi-goal game of his pro career and 10th multi-point effort.

First Times the Charm: Rookie defenseman Brinson Pasichnuk and rookie forward Scotty Reedy each scored their first pro goals on Sunday in the Barracuda’s 5-1 win over Ontario. The Sharks signed Pasichnuk as an undrafted free agent this offseason from Arizona State. Reedy just finished his senior season at Minnesota and joined the Barracuda on Tuesday after signing his entry-level contract the previous Friday.

Trade Winds: The Sharks were wheeling and dealing before the NHL’s trade deadline on Monday, as the organization stockpiled draft capital and added a pair of players. Notable departures were forward Antti Suomela who was traded to Toronto for Alex Barabanov, Stefan Noeson who was also traded to Toronto in a separate deal, and Nick DeSimone who was sent to Vegas. The Sharks also traded Fredrik Claesson to the Lightning for goalie prospect Magnus Chrona. DeSimone ranks fourth in Barracuda history in games played (190), points (91), and assists (65).
