San Jose Barracuda Assign Brodzinski to Allen

SAN JOSE, CA - The San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda) presented by Barracuda Networks (@barracuda) and the American Hockey League (@TheAHL) affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) today announced the club has assigned defenseman Michael Brodzinski to its ECHL affiliate the Allen Americans (@AllenAmericans).

Brodzinski appeared in six games for the Barracuda in 2015-16, recording zero points after forgoing his final year of college hockey at the University of Minnesota (BIG10). The 21-year-old (5-11/181) was selected by the Sharks in the fifth round (#171 overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

Brodzinski did not appear in the Barracuda’s season opener in Stockton this past Saturday.

The blue liner played in 99 games for the Golden Gophers, collecting 48 points (18-30-48), 62 penalty minutes and a +26 rating in three seasons.

The Barracuda continue its 2016-17 season on the road this upcoming Saturday, Oct. 22 as they take on the Ontario Reign (Los Angeles Kings) at 6:00 PM. All the action can be heard on the flagship station of the Barracuda AM 1220 KDOW.
