SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed forward Petter Emanuelsson (PEH-tuhr EEman-yew EHL-suhn) to a one-year contract.

Emanuelsson, 23, posted four goals in six games with Worcester in the American Hockey League (AHL) during an injury-shortened season in 2014-15. Prior to his time in North America, Emanuelsson spent parts of five seasons with Skelleftea of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He helped Skelleftea win two consecutive league championships from 2012-13 through 2013-14, while his team also finished with the best record during the regular season both years.

In 120 career SHL games, all with Skelleftea, Emanuelsson recorded 35 points (16 goals, 19 assists) and 14 penalty minutes. He was teammates with current Sharks forward Melker Karlsson in Skelleftea.

The six-foot, 200-pound native of Kiruna, Sweden originally signed with San Jose as a free agent on June 11, 2013.
