Sharks To Host NHL Draft Viewing Party On Friday, June 26

SAN JOSE - The San Jose Sharks invite all Bay Area hockey fans to attend the second annual Sharks Draft Party on Fri., June 26. The Sharks Draft Party will take place at Stanley's Sports Bar, located inside Sharks Ice at San Jose at 1500 South 10th Street in San Jose, from approximately 3-8 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public. Be sure to arrive early as space is limited.

The event will be hosted by Sharks television play-by-play announcer Randy Hahn and radio play-by-play announcer Dan Rusanowsky. Sharks alumus Evgeni Nabokov and other special guests will also be in attendance for a Q&A session and to meet with fans. The first round of the 2015 NHL Draft will be shown LIVE on multiple screens at Stanley's starting at 4 p.m. on NBC SportsNetwork.

The Sharks are currently slated to select 9th overall in the 2015 NHL Draft and hold two selections in the Top 40. Since 2003, San Jose has made 90 total draft picks (2003-2014), the thirteenth-most draft picks in that time-frame.

Despite owning the lowest average draft pick position (131st) over the past decade, the Sharks draft selections under General Manager Doug Wilson, Director of Scouting Tim Burke, and the Sharks scouting staff rank in the top-5 in nearly every significant category, including 1st in games played (7,232), 4th in goals (1,214), 5th in assists (1,822), and 5th in points (3,036).

Fans attending the live telecast will be treated to some great entertainment including Sharks Draft bingo, a Draft photo booth, the Pepsi Tank Patrol, raffles and trivia contests for cool Sharks prizes, like a Sharks jersey signed by the Sharks 2015 first-round selection, in addition to an appearance by S.J. Sharkie.

Furthermore, a limited number of lucky fans attending the draft party may have the opportunity to speak with the Sharks 2015 first-round draft selection via phone (subject to change).

Food and drink specials will be available for attendees and fans will be able to browse the latest Sharks merchandise, including the official Sharks 2015 NHL Draft hat.
