BARRACUDA BLANK MOOSE, 3-0

BARRACUDA BLANK MOOSE, 3-0

Mar 31, 2017

SAN JOSE, CALIF. - Troy Grosenick made 26 saves, and the San Jose Barracuda (40-14-2-5) scored three-second period goals to roll to a 3-0 win over the Manitoba Moose (25-35-4-5) on Friday night at SAP Center.

The shutout win was Grosenick's (28-9-3) tenth of the season and San Jose's twelfth as a team.

After a scoreless first, the Barracuda exploded for three unanswered second-period goals. Nikita Jevpalovs (13) broke the deadlock at 1:48 as he tipped a Julius Bergman point shot. San Jose added to its advantage at the six-minute mark when Manitoba's clearing attempt redirected off John McCarthy's skate to an uncovered trailing Ryan Carpenter (12). With no one within 20 feet, Carpenter went forehand-to-backhand to beat Moose goaltender Eric Comrie. Danny O'Regan (21) completed the three-goal frame on the power play at 18:01 with a loose-puck backhand from close range.

In the third, Grosenick stopped all ten Moose shots and held on for San Jose's third win against Manitoba in as many tries.

Comrie (16-25-6) took the loss after allowing three goals on 30 shots.
The Barracuda wrap up a four-game season series with Manitoba on Saturday night at SAP Center (7:00 PM). Catch all the action on AM 1220 KDOW, www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com. Tickets are available at the SAP Center Box Office, at 408-999-5757, or online at SJBarracuda.com/tickets.
