BARRACUDA CLINCH PACIFIC DIVISION TITLE AFTER SAN DIEGO LOSS

SAN JOSE, CALIF. - The San Jose Barracuda clinched its first Pacific Division title (John Chick Trophy) in team history on Saturday after the San Diego Gulls fell, 3-1, in Ontario. Through 64 games, San Jose holds the AHL's best winning percentage (.711) with a record of 42-15-2-5.
The Barracuda took over the best winning percentage in the AHL during its 14 game winning streak from Jan. 25 to March 1, and have not looked back since going 27-7-1-2 since Jan. 1.
The Barracuda are the first team in the AHL to clinch a division title and can win the Western Conference (Bud Poile Trophy) with a victory over Stockton on Sunday.
After Sunday, just three games remain in the regular season.
