BARRACUDA COOKED BY CONDORS, 4-1

San Jose, CA - After a slow start to the game, the San Jose Barracuda (27-32-1-4) fell to the Bakersfield Condors (31-28-2-2) on Sunday at Tech CU Arena, 4-1. 

The first period would see few whistles and no scoring until Thomas Bordeleau (22) would backhand the puck into the net after receiving a back-door pass from Jeffrey Viel, giving San Jose a 1-0 lead at 16:41. However, Bakersfield would respond soon after, at 19:38, with a quick three-on-two rush. Luke Esposito would hit Greg Mckegg’s (6) stick in tight to tie the game at one heading into intermission.  

After a scoreless second period, Dylan Holloway (2) on the power play, would give the Condors their first lead of the game at the 5:11 mark of the third period. The Barracuda would pull Dell for the extra man, but Bakersfield would capitalize twice on the empty net, with goals from McKegg (7) and Justin Bailey (18) to end the game 4-1. 

Bakersfield outshot San Jose 22-20, going 1/4 on the power play and a perfect 3/3 on the penalty kill. 

Oliver Rodrigue (11-13-1-0) made 19 saves for the win while Dell (13-14-2-2) made 18 saves in the losing effort.
