BARRACUDA SIGN DEFENSEMAN CLIFF WATSON TO PTO

SAN JOSE - The San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda) proud American Hockey League (@TheAHL) affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) and General Manager Joe Will announced today that the club has signed Defenseman Cliff Watson (@25cliffy) to professional tryout agreement (PTO) from the Colorado Eagles (@ColoradoEagles).
 
The rookie defenseman has appeared in 39 games in the ECHL this season with the Utah Grizzlies and Colorado Eagles, collecting 25 points (nine goals, 16 assists), 21 penalty minutes and a minus-six rating. In addition, Watson has skated in six games with the Utica Comets (AHL), totaling one assist, four penalty minutes, and a minus-four rating. 

The native of Sheboygan, Wisconsin spent four years at Michigan Tech (WCHA) where he played 162 games while collecting 42 points (eight goals, 34 assists), 172 penalty minutes, and a plus-29 rating.

The Sharks selected the six-foot-two, 190-pound defenseman in the sixth round (#168 overall) of the 2012 NHL draft, but a contract was never agreed upon.
