Loveland, CO - The San Jose Barracuda (13-13-0-1) gave up the first three goals on Saturday night at the Budweiser Events Center and could never recover, falling 5-2 to the Colorado Eagles (16-7-2-0). In the loss, Thomas Bordeleau netted his team-leading 12th goal of the year and Brandon Coe snapped an 18-game goalless drought.

In the first, after an offensive blueline turnover, Ryan Wagner (4) snapped a shot short side on Eetu Makiniemi as he carried it up the left wing, giving the Eagles a 1-0 lead. Then at 12:16, Spencer Smallman (2) made it goals in consecutive games by tipping a Keaton Middleton shot past Makiniemi.

In the second, on its fourth power play, Cedric Pare made it goals in back-to-back games with a one-timer off the left wing as the Eagles jumped out to a 3-0 advantage at 3:30. At 16:54, the Barracuda finally got on the board during a delayed penalty as Bordeleau (12) received a William Eklund seam pass and one-timed it past Jonas Johansson.

In the third, just 2:25 into the period, Shane Bowers (3) tipped in a point shot to make it 4-1 Colorado. But just 19 seconds later, Coe (3) would steer in a sharp-angle shot from the right wing. The Eagles would seal the victory with an empty netter at 19:05 from Cal Burke (7).

Johansson (8-5-0) picked up the win by making 25 saves on 27 shots, while Makiniemi (6-6-1) took the loss, giving up four goals on 27 shots.
