Barracuda vs. Bakersfield Condors Preview

The San Jose Barracuda and the Bakersfield Condors (AHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers) meet for the 4th of 12 meetings this season, the 2nd of six meetings at the SAP Center. The Barracuda are 1-1-0-1 vs. the Condors this season and are 1-1-0-1 in three career matchups. The Barracuda are 2-1-0-0 on their current five game home stand and have a 3-5-0-1 record overall at the SAP Center this season. San Jose is now 5-2-0-2 in their last nine games overall and look to go back to over .500 for the first time since Oct 21.

The San Jose Barracuda (8-8-0-3, 19pts) presented by Barracuda Networks, defeated the visiting Stockton Heat (6-8-0-2, 14pts) 5-3 in front of 3,755 fans at the SAP Center on Friday evening. John McCarthy (1-0-1), Ryan Carpenter (1-2-3), Julius Bergman (1-0-1), Barclay Goodrow (1-3-4) and Jeremy Langlois (1-0-1) all scored for San Jose while Aaron Dell made 43 saves in the home win. Kenny Agostino (2-0-2), and Aaron Johnson (1-0-1) scored for the Heat while goaltender Joni Ortio made 13 saves in the loss as the Barracuda improved to 2-1-0-0 on their five game home stand.
The Condors exploded for six goals in a 6-4 home victory last night over the SD Gulls. Andrew Miller, Dillon Simpson, Anton Slepyshev, Greg Chase, Josh Currie, and Kale Kessy scored for Bakersfield while Laurent Brossoit made 41 saves in net for the victory as the Condors evened their record back to .500.

*Recent transactions…Forward Micheal Haley was returned to the Barracuda after the Sharks 1-0 loss in Anaheim last night while defenseman Mirco Mueller was recalled by the SJ Sharks after the Barracuda’s 5-3 win last night vs. Stockton. Dylan DeMelo remains on recall with the SJ Sharks.
