Home for Henderson: The Barracuda kick off a two-game weekend set with the Henderson Silver Knights (Golden Knights) beginning on Friday. The Barracuda are 3-1 versus the Knights this season, with all four games coming on the road.

 

Home Cooking: The Barracuda, who are in the midst of a season-long seven-game homestand, enter Friday having picked up points in their last five at Tech CU Arena (4-0-1-0) and are now T-second in the AHL in home winning percentage (.750).

 

Sunday Funday: The Barracuda handed the Toronto Marlies a 4-2 loss on Sunday at Tech CU Arena. Gabe Carriere made 23 saves to improve to 4-1 on the season as Anthony Vincent, Ethan Cardwell, Danil Gushchin, and Collin Graf (EN) scored in the win. The Barracuda never trailed in the game and scored their first three goals during five-on-five play.

 

Knight Light: The Silver Knights had their season-long five-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday in Bakersfield. The Knights are 12 points behind the Condors for the final playoff spot in the Pacific Division entering Friday. Henderson ranks 26th in the AHL in goals-for (2.83) and 30th in goals-against (3.67).

 

Hot Pot: Andrew Poturalski picked up a pair of assists on Sunday and now has eight points (3+5=8) in his last four games. Since Dec. 15, the nine-year vet has six multi-point games, including a pair of four-point efforts, and 23 points (9+14=23) during the 16-game stretch. One of the club’s two All-Star selections, Potsy is pacing the league in points (44), T-third in power-play goals (8) and assists (26), and T-fifth in goals (18). The New Hampshire alumni has four goals in four games versus the Silver Knights this season.

 

Calling Collin: The Sharks assigned rookie forward Collin Graf to the Barracuda last Friday after a 10-game stint in the NHL. Despite not playing in the AHL since Dec. 29, the 22-year-old entered last weekend T-third among AHL rookies in scoring and first in assists. The rookie forward collected a goal and an assist over the weekend and now has points in his last five games (2+3=5). Among freshmen, the 22-year-old is T-first in assists (21) and T-fourth in scoring (28). Graf has seven points (1+6=7) in four games versus the Knights this season.

 

Luca Lightning: Among rookies, blueliner Luca Cagnoni is first in power-play points (16), T-first in power-play goals (6) and power-play assists (10) and T-sixth in points (26). Among all skaters, he is T-third in power-play points.

   

Sparkling Special Teams: The Barracuda rank first in the AHL on the penalty kill (87.2%) entering Friday and T-third in shorthanded goals (7). Additionally, the club boasts the league’s fifth-best power play (21.2%). Versus the Knights, the Barracuda are three-for-17 on the PP (17.6%) and 17-for-18 on the PK (94.4%).
