SHARKS RECALL HALBGEWACHS

SAN JOSE, CA (Dec. 13, 2021) – The San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) announced today that the club has recalled forward Jayden Halbgewachs from the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Halbgewachs, 24, has skated in 19 games for the Barracuda this season, recording 16 points (seven goals, nine assists). He is second on the team in goals (tied), assists (tied) and points, and his nine power-play points (two goals, seven assists) ranks tied for first. The winger has nine points (four goals, five assists) in his last ten appearances and registered his third multi-point (one goal, one assist) game of the season in a Dec. 12 victory against Abbotsford.

Last season, Halbgewachs tallied eleven points (six goals, five assists) in 25 regular season games with the Barracuda, along with three points (one goal, two assists) in four playoff games. He finished second in team scoring in 2019-20 with 35 points (19 goals, 16 assists) in 55 games. In total, he has registered 97 points (45 goals, 52 assists) in 163 AHL games across parts of four seasons with San Jose.

Prior to playing in the AHL, Halbgewachs played with the Moose Jaw Warriors in the Western Hockey League, registering 280 points (139 goals, 141 assists) in 276 games. He led the WHL in scoring in the 2017-18 season after he recorded 129 points (70 goals, 59 assists) in 72 games.

The five-foot-nine, 170-pound native of Regina, Sask. was signed by San Jose on Dec. 28, 2017.
