BARRACUDA SIGN FORWARD TY PELTON-BYCE TO PTO

San Jose, CA – The San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda), AHL (@TheAHL) affiliate of the San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks), and General Manager Joe Will announced today that the team has signed forward Ty Pelton-Byce (@icebyce17) to a professional tryout (PTO).

Pelton-Byce, 26, has appeared in 32 games this season with the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads, posting 36 points (nine goals, 27 assists), 22 penalty minutes, and a plus-23 rating.

Over his three-year pro career, Pelton-Byce has skated in 23 games in the AHL with the Manitoba Moose, collecting four points (two goals, two assists) and two penalty minutes. Additionally, he has played in 92 games in the ECHL with the Newfoundland Growlers and Steelheads, posting 91 points (31 goals, 60 assists), 42 penalty minutes, and a plus-45 rating.

Prior to turning pro, the six-foot-two, 194-pound, Madison, Wisconsin, native spent two years at Harvard from 2016-18 and two seasons at Wisconsin from 2019-21, dressing in 122 combined games and scoring 88 points (32 goals, 56 assists), 30 penalty minutes and a plus-12 rating.
