Sharks Recall Ryan Carpenter

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Ryan Carpenter (@CarpyDeuces) from the San Jose Barracuda from the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda) of the American Hockey League.

Carpenter, 24, currently leads the Barracuda in points (18) and assists (16) in 20 AHL games this season. His plus-12 rating leads all Barracuda players (T-8th in the league) in his second full professional campaign, and his 16 helpers rank T-5th in the AHL. In 106 career AHL games (with San Jose/Worcester), Carpenter has recorded 14 goals and 40 assists.

A six-foot, 195-pound native of Oviedo, Florida, Carpenter was signed by San Jose as an undrafted free agent on March 26, 2014.

In a related move, defenseman Mirco Mueller (@muellermirco) was reassigned to the Barracuda.

Mueller, 20, has posted one goal and two assists and a plus-4 rating in seven games with the Barracuda this season. He has appeared in 10 games with the Sharks this season, and made his NHL debut in 2014-15, recording one goal and three assists in 39 games with the Sharks. In addition, he added one goal in three games with Worcester (AHL) last season.

A six-foot-three, 210-pound native of Winterthur, Switzerland, Mueller was originally drafted by San Jose in the first round (18th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.
