The San Jose Barracuda (9-8-0-3, 21pts, .525%) presented by Barracuda Networks chomped four out of a possible four points last week (2-0-0-0) in two home games. The Barracuda picked up a 5-3 win over the Stockton Heat on Dec 4 led by four point games by Barclay Goodrow (1-3-4) and Ryan Carpenter (1-3-4) and a 43 save performance by Aaron Dell in net. San Jose finished off the week with a 7-6 overtime victory over the Condors on Dec 5 paced by Barclay Goodrow’s first professional hat trick as the Barracuda won back-to-back home games for the first time this season.
Barclay Goodrow (4-3-7, +7) and Ryan Carpenter (1-6-7, +8) led the way offensively last week for the Barracuda as San Jose jumped past the .500 mark for the first time since Oct 21. Petter Emanuelsson (2-2-4, +5) racked up four points last week which included his first two goals of the season on Dec 5 vs. Bakersfield. John McCarthy, Julius Bergman, Jeremy Langlois, and Mark Cundari also scored last week while Daniel Doremus scored his first career AHL goal and added an assist. The Barracuda are now 3-1-0-0 on their five game home stand which concludes on Saturday vs. the San Diego Gulls.
Mirco Mueller and Micheal Haley both saw action with the Barracuda and the Sharks last week as the Barracuda have now had 27 call-ups already this season.
Barracuda POW: The American Hockey League announced that San Jose Barracuda right wing Barclay Goodrow has been selected as the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 6, 2015.
Goodrow racked up four goals and three assists for seven points along with a plus-7 rating in just two games last week, scoring the game-winning goal in both contests for San Jose. In recognition of his achievement, Goodrow will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Barracuda home game.
COMING UP:
The San Jose Barracuda play two games this weekend as they look for their first three game winning streak of the season.
On Saturday, the Barracuda host the San Diego Gulls (Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate) with a 1:30pm start at the SAP Center with the first 4,000 fans receiving a Barracuda scarf presented by Sharks Ice. Fans are encouraged to bring canned food items to benefit the School Health Clinics of Santa Clara County. All fans that donate will receive a free ticket to the Barracuda game on Dec 30 vs. the Charlotte Checkers.
Doors open at 12:45pm. December 12 marks the 4th of 13 San Jose Barracuda and San Jose Sharks doubleheaders at the SAP Center this season. The San Jose Sharks host the Minnesota Wild at 7:30pm. Fans must have a separate ticket for both games. Coverage begins at 1pm online at www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com.
On Sunday, The Barracuda head to Ontario to battle the Reign (AHL affiliate of the LA Kings) at 3pm. Coverage begins at 2:30pm on AM 1220 KDOW.

MILESTONE ALERT:
Head Coach Roy Sommer (626 wins) surpassed Frank Mathers (1256 games coached) for the most games coached in AHL history on March 26, 2014 in the Sharks 5-3 win in Lewiston, ME over the Portland Pirates. Coach Sommer has coached 1364 AHL games – all with the SJ Sharks AHL affiliates. In total, Coach Sommer has been a head coach in 1,698 games in the AHL and ECHL. Coach Sommer picked up his 600th career AHL win in a 4-3 victory in Lehigh Valley on Feb 4, 2015 and surpassed Frank Mathers (610 wins) for 2nd all-time in AHL history on March 27 in Springfield with his 611th win! Roy needs 10 wins to tie Fred “Bun Cook” (636 wins) for the most wins in AHL history!

John McCarthy (1-0-1), Ryan Carpenter (1-2-3), Julius Bergman (1-0-1), Barclay Goodrow (1-3-4) and Jeremy Langlois (1-0-1) scored for San Jose while Aaron Dell made 43 saves in the home win. Kenny Agostino (2-0-2) and Aaron Johnson (1-0-1) scored for the Heat while goaltender Joni Ortio made 13 saves in the loss as the Barracuda improved to 2-1-0-0 on their five game home stand.

Barclay Goodrow scored just 23 second into overtime for his first professional hat trick as the San Jose Barracuda (9-8-0-3, 21pts) presented by Barracuda Networks defeated the visiting Bakersfield Condors (9-9-1-1, 20pts) by the score of 7-6 in front of 3,688 fans at the SAP Center on Saturday afternoon on Ugly Sweater Night. Barclay Goodrow (3-0-3) completed his first career hat trick in a wild back and forth affair including the game winner in overtime to give the Barracuda the win. Ryan Carpenter (0-3-3, +5), Petter Emanuelsson (2-1-3, +3), Daniel Doremus (1-1-2), Mark Cundari (1-1-2, +3) and Karl Stollery (0-2-2) all had multipoint games for San Jose while Troy Grosenick (5-4-2) made 23 saves on 29 shots in the win. Matthew Ford (2-0-2) and Josh Currie (2-0-2) both scored two goals apiece in the loss for Bakersfield. Goaltender Ben Scrivens made seven saves on 11 shots through 20 minutes and was replaced by Laurent Brossoit who made 15 saves on 18 shots and picked up the OT loss in net.

Coming Up for the San Jose Barracuda:
The San Jose Barracuda play two games this weekend as they look for their first three game winning streak of the season.
On Saturday, the Barracuda host the San Diego Gulls (Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate) with a 1:30pm start at the SAP Center with the first 4,000 fans receiving a Barracuda scarf presented by Sharks Ice. Fans are encouraged to bring canned food items to benefit the School Health Clinics of Santa Clara County. All fans that donate will receive a free ticket to the Barracuda game on Dec 30 vs. the Charlotte Checkers.
Doors open at 12:45pm. December 12 marks the 4th of 13 San Jose Barracuda and San Jose Sharks doubleheaders at the SAP Center this season. The San Jose Sharks host the Minnesota Wild at 7:30pm. Fans must have a separate ticket for both games. Coverage begins at 1pm online at www.kdow.biz and www.ahllive.com.
On Sunday, The Barracuda head to Ontario to battle the Reign (AHL affiliate of the LA Kings) at 3pm. Coverage begins at 2:30pm on AM 1220 KDOW.
