Nov 8, 2015

SAN JOSE, CA –The San Jose Barracuda (3-5-0-1, 7pts) presented by Barracuda Networks lell 6-2 to the visiting Bakersfield Condors (4-5-0-1, 9pts) in front of 3,009 fans at the SAP Center on Sunday afternoon.  The San Jose Barracuda begin a season long seven game road trip in Ontario, CA on Wednesday at 7pm.

Jeremy Langlois (1-0-1) and Bryan Lerg (1-0-1) scored for the Barracuda in the 6-2 loss.  Five different Condors lit the lamp led by Jujhar Khaira striking for a pair of goals.  Goaltender Laurent Brossoit (4-2-1) got his fourth win of the season for Bakersfield saving 40 of 42 shots as the Barracuda dropped to 1-4-0-1 at the SAP Center this season.

The Barracuda struck first 35 seconds into the game in a wild first period.  Jeremy Langlois (2nd) scored on a second chance effort, jamming away at the loose puck in front of the net eventually shoveling it in.  Bakersfield tied it up at 6:57 after goaltender Aaron Dell passed the puck behind the net and Ryan Hamilton (4th) scooped it up and scored on the wraparound shot with a shorthanded tally.  Five minutes later Jujhar Khaira (2nd) of the Condors scored after steeling the puck behind the net and wrapping it around in similar fashion as their first goal.  Bryan Lerg (4th) tied the game up at 14:36, scoring on a rebound in front of the net that beat goaltender Laurent Brossoit top shelf glove side.  Two minutes later Bakersfield forward Mathew Ford (5th) scored from the right of the net that beat Dell close post on a bad angle shot.   Shots were 18-10 in favor of the Barracuda.

Barracuda goaltender Troy Grosenick replaced Aaron Dell to start the second period after Dell gave up three goals on 10 shots.  David Musil (1st) scored his first goal of the season from the top of the left circle on a wicked wrist shot to give the Condors the 4-2 lead at 5:15.  Condors rookie center Kyle Platzer (1st) increased the lead on the power play with a wrist shot from the top of the left circle that rang off the goal post and in.  Grosenick made 13 saves on 15 shots and Brossoit saved all 10 shots he faced in the second.

A hard fought 3rd period yielded two separate Condors penalties but the Barracuda were unable to capitalize on either of them.  With 1:30 left in the game, Khaira (3rd) scored his second goal of the game on a shot from the lower left circle that beat Grosenick low on the near post.  Goaltender Laurent Brossoit was the best player of the period turning away all 14 shots he faced.   San Jose outshot the Condors 14 to 7 but came up empty on home ice.
